This was the second failed infiltration bid by militants in Kashmir in less than a week. Earlier on June 6, Army killed three militants trying to cross the border in Macchil sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The infiltration bids came amid the intelligence reports of terrorist organisations planning an attack on the annual Amarnath Yatra starting from June 28.
The intelligence agencies have received inputs that Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) leadership in Shopian was planning to attack security forces deployed in the security of the pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra.
