New Delhi:

An encounter breaks out between security forces and terrorists in Baramulla’s Sopore in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

The security forces have launched search operations in Sopore after inputs of presence of terrorists in the area.

Cordon and search operation launched in 8 villages of Kulgam and Shopian district by 62 RR and police from both districts.

Initial reports suggest one militant killed in Sopore. Firing stopped at encounter site, while the body is yet to be retrieved.

Earlier on September 4, Exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists at Sopore's Shangergund area in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla. Two terrorists were killed in the encounter.

The security forces recovered weapons with the dead bodies.
