At least three militants were killed in an encounter that broke out on Saturday morning between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmirâ€™s Pulwama district. The identity of the militants is yet to be ascertained. A cordon and search operation was launched in Sirnoo village of the district after receiving specific intelligence input about the presence of militants in the area, a police official said.
As the searches were going on, the militants fired upon the government forces triggering a gunfight. Internet services have been suspended in the area. "All the three terrorists are locals and belong to Hizb-ul-Mujahideen outfit,â€ according to reports.

On Thursday, two terrorists were killed in the Sopore area ofÂ Jammu and Kashmirâ€™s Baramullah district. Thee troops of 179 Battalion CRPF, SOG Sopore, 22 RR carried out the encounter.Â
