Two terrorists were killed in an early morning encounter with security forces in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday. During the search, terrorists opened fire at security forces in the Rajpora area. A J&K Police official said security forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) late on Thursday evening in the Drabgam village, according to reports. “As the search operation was going on, hiding terrorists fired on the search party. The fire was retaliated leading to an encounter,” the official said as quoted by the Indian Express.

The two terrorists have been identified as Shahid Ahmad Baba and Aniyat Ahmad Ziger, the police said. Both the terrorists were affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

The Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, “Two terrorists killed in the #Pulwama operation. Identity and affiliation being ascertained. Arms and ammunition recovered.”
