Kashmir: Encounter underway in Kupwara; militant killed, two jawans injured

A militant was gunned down in an ongoing encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district along the Line Of Control on Monday. Two security personnel also sustained injuries in the incident.

The encounter between the security forces and militants broke in Kupwara’s Safawali Gal area near the Line of Control (LoC).

The identity of the militants killed in the encounter was being ascertained. One AK 47 assault rifle was also recovered from his possession.

Meanwhile, the injured jawans were rushed to a hospital nearby. The encounter was still going on and more details were awaited in the story.
