Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday withdrew the official accommodation of state Congress committee (JKPCC) president Ghulam Ahmad Mir, according to reports. Mir is Congress candidate from Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency for General Elections 2019, scheduled to be held between April 11 and May 19. He is scheduled to file his nomination on Wednesday.

Earlier, the government has withdrawn security of state Congress leaders Shameema Raina, Imtiyaz Khan and several others. Both Raina and Khan have contested Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections from Iddgah and Zadibal constituencies in 2014.
Describing these incidents as "very unfortunate", the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) expressed grave concern and sought an explanation from the state government over the move.
It also urged upon the government to restore the security of its leaders saying that the withdrawal of security will certainly risk their lives, Spokesperson added and demanded adequate security for them.
The prevailing situation in the valley is not conducive and withdrawing security cover and official accommodation was very unfortunate and condemnable, a party spokesperson said.
