Jammu and Kashmir: Grenade blast injures 3 CPRF jawans, 8 civilians in Shopian district

A grenade blast rocked Kashmir's Shopian district on Tuesday morning. According to reports, the blast has injured 3 CRPF jawans and 8 civilians. The alert Indian Army has cordoned off the area and the search operation is on. More details awaited.

At least nine persons, including two security force personnel, were injured today in a grenade attack on a CRPF patrol party in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Militants hurled a grenade at the CRPF personnel in Shopian town at around 11:40 AM, resulting in injuries to seven civilians and two security personnel, a police official said.

He said the injured have been taken to Shopian district hospital even as security forces have launched a search operation to track down the militants.

Another terrorist attack in Pampore area near Srinagar was still underway at the time of this report. Three terrorists were holed up inside J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute since Monday. 

The operation to flush-out militants holed up inside the building has entered the second day today, even as security forces launched a fresh offensive against the ultras. (With Inputs from PTI)
