Terrorists hurled grenade on Thursday at a police station in Lal Bazar area in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar. One policeman was injured in the incident. The security forces have cordoned off the area. Earlier on February 2, at least two CRPF personnel and two civilians were injured in a grenade attack at Pratap Park in Srinagar's Lal Chowk area.

On Wednesday, three terroists militants were killed and a CRPF jawan died in a gunbattle in Lawaypora area outside Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter broke out after the militants opened fire on security forces in Lawaypora area on Wednesday afternoon, a police official said. The security forces retaliated, killing three militants, a CRPF spokesperson said, adding that the third militant was captured in an injured condition when he was trying to flee from the spot. One CRPF jawan, identified as Rajeev Ranjan, was killed after being injured in the attack, the CRPF spokesperson said.

Two of the killed terrorirs have been identified as Khateeb Ahmad Dass of Bijbehara and Zia u Rehman Wani of Aarath Budgam. According to police records, Khateeb Dass was the brother-in-law of terrorist Mugees Mir of Parimpora who was earlier killed in an encounter. Khateeb Dass, as per police records was affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen and had been part of groups involved in carrying out terror attacks in the areas of South Kashmir.
