Two Pakistani militants, including the mastermind of an IED blast, were gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Sopore area of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on Thursday. "Encounter breaks out between terrorists and security forces in Baramulla's Sopore," the news agency ANI reported early morning. Internet services have been suspended as the encounter was underway when the last reports came in.

In yet another encounter, a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) militant was killed and eight security personnel, including a DSP, were injured Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, according to police. Security forces during a cordon and search operation zeroed in on a location near a house in the district's Kakriyal area and trapped the militants, officials added.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a search operation has been launched in Jammu and Kashmir's Jhajjar Kotli after militants travelling in a truck opened fire at a forest guard and fled the spot on Wednesday. The area has been cordoned off.

Earlier on Tuesday, two militants were gunned down in another encounter with security forces in Guloora village of Handwara in North Kashmir. However, no casualties of the security forces have been reported in the incident so far.
