At least two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were killed and two others received serious injuries in a militant attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.
According to initial reports, the militants attacked a CRPF party deployed at Achabal Chowk in Anantnag. Four jawans injured in the attack, of which two succumbed to the injuries.
The two CRPF jawans killed were identified as assistant sub-inspector Meena and constable Sandeep, said sources, according to PTI.
A civilian was also injured when militants opened fire on a CRPF team deployed on law and order duty in the area and fled the spot. After the attack, the area has been cordoned off by the security forces and the hunt was on to nab the assailants.
