Joint security forces gun down one terrorists at Gulshanpora in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tral on Sunday. A gunbattle had started between the forces and militants after terrorists attacked a the patrolling party.
A senior police officer of Jammu and Kashmir Police said, “Joint security forces including 42 Rashtriya Rifles and SOG Awantipora were engaged in search operation in Tral area after we received intelligence inputs regarding few terrorists camping in forested area at Gulshanpora”
The officer added, “Gunbattle between security forces and militants started after terrorists opened fire at the search party. One terrorist was gunned down and he has been identified as Adil Chopaan.”
In the last 73 hours joint forces in Jammu and Kashmir have gunned down at least six terrorists and arrested three militants having alliance to different terror outfits. The police had arrested three terrorist having alliance with Jaish-e-Mohammad from Badgam area of the valley and recovered arms and ammunition including SLR and pistols from their possession on Sunday.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police along with Indian Army and CRPF had gunned down six Pakistani militants having alliance with LeT on Saturday late in Bandipora district. The security forces then had recovered huge cache of munitions from the encounter site. The recoveries included Ak-47, hand grenades, under-barrel grenade launchers.
