Two militants were killed in an encounter with the security forces in South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Saturday morning. The encounter started after security forces launched cardon and search operation in Tikken village of Pulwama district. Arms and ammunitions were recovered from the encounter site, according to the news agency ANI.
"On the basis of a specific info search operation was launched. In a brief shootout two terrorists were killed. They belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen. Arms and ammunition have been recovered. There was no collateral damage in the encounter," said SP Pani, IGP Kashmir.

On Friday, a foreign Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) militant was killed in an encounter between the militants and the security forces in South Kashmir’s Tral area. One policeman was also injured in the gunfight. This came after, security forces busted a hideout recovering explosive materials for making Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday.

Earlier on Tuesday, two militants were killed in an encounter in Kashmir’s Shopian district. Police said both militants were affiliated with the Hizbul Mujahideen. Both the militants were locals and residents of Shopian district. One of the militants, Idrees Ahmad, had deserted the army and joined militant ranks.
