The 31-year-old Border Security Force (BSF) trooper,  Rameez Ahmad Parray, on vacation at home in Jammu and Kashmir’s Badipora district, was unfettered by the enormous pressure  mounted by the terrorists to shout anti-India slogans but he kept the high values and tradition of the defence forces by saying ‘Jai Hind’ till his last breath.

The unarmed constable of BSF’s 73rd Battalion was murdered in a ‘barbaric and inhuman’ manner by the active terrorists of the valley after failing to abduct him on Wednesday.

According to sources in the region terrorists numbering between 10 and 15 barged into the slain BSF jawan’s house and shouted slogans claiming him to be ‘traitor of Kashmir’ and shouted anti-India slogans.

Family members of the jawan told the media that ‘Parray’ bravely resisted the terrorists till he breathed his last.

According to one of the family members, “The terrorists were regular terming him as ‘traitor of Kashmir’ and wanted him shout anti-India slogans. In spite of being repeatedly beaten by the terrorists he kept saying Jai Hind.”

The family members added that the terrorists wanted to abduct him but tough resistance by him and others forced the terrorists to opened fire. In the firing the BSF jawan suffered fatal injuries.

Police said in the incident Parray’s father and three others have suffered critical injuries in the firing.

Jammu and Kashmir director general of police SP Vaid termed Parray’s killing as barbaric and inhuman.
