Two militants were killed while an Army jawan martyred in an ongoing encounter in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
"Two terrorists have been killed in an ongoing operation in Panar forest area of Bandipora district (in north Kashmir)," PTI quoted a defence spokesman in Srinagar as saying.
During the encounter, a jawan was also hit by bullets and lost his life.
The attack comes on a day when Home Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to take a decision on whether the Ramzan ceasefire in the Vally will be extended post-Eid.

However, the chances to extend the Ramazan ceasefire looks bleak because the Amarnath Yatra will begin within days, and Army would have to sanitise the corridors.
Earlier on Wednesday, four BSF jawans had lost their life in ceasefire violation by Pakistan Rangers along the International Border (IB) in Ramgarh sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district.
More details are awaited.
