Four terrorists have been gunned down in Sunderbani tehsil of Rajouri sector in Jammu and Kashmir, tweeted Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri.
A gunfight had broken out on Wednesday between the security personnel and some militants in the Rajouri sector. The militants had infiltrated into the area four-five days back from across the Line of Control (LoC).
The militants were traced to be in the Sunderbani tehsil by the forces. The authorities in the morning ordered to close all the educational institutions in Sunderbani as a precautionary measure.
Choudhary tweeted, “All Schools in Sunderbani sub-division have been ordered to be closed for today.”

Choudhary also tweeted about the encounter of the terrorists, and said the forces were on their job to eliminate all of the militants.
He tweeted, “Sunderbani encounter: 3 terrorists killed as per reports. Forces on the job for suspected 4th. #Rajouri. 4th as well.”

The Jammu police and security forces had been conducting a search operation to combat and track down the four-five suspected infiltrating militants in Sunderbani. CRPF PRO Ashish Kumar Jha said that there was no attack on the CRPF camp in Sunderbani.
SP Vaid, Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, said, “An encounter has broken out between Nowshera-Sunderbani belt after a group of infiltrator militants were intercepted by the security forces today.”

Vaid also appreciated the efforts of the security forces and tweeted, “4 Terrorists killed in joint operation in Sunderbani Rajouri. It was a group recently infiltrated from LOC. Great job boys.”

Giving more details about the operation, SSP of Rajouri, Yougal Manhas said three bags of ammunition and explosives were recovered from outside a CRPF camp in the tehsil area.
The operation started when a security guard manning the gate of a CRPF camp at Sodra fired some warning shots and raised an alarm after he detected some suspicious movements near the camp.
On Tuesday night, two militants had entered into the house of a resident Bhushan Kumar Sharma in Bunpori-Yoginallah area in Sunderbani tehsil and forced the family to prepare some food for them, which according to reports, they had taken away along with themselves.
