The controversy over the national anthem has reached the state of Jammu and Kashmir where the family members of a few policemen came in for sharp criticism for ‘insulting’ the paean.

It is reported that the family members did not stand up while the national anthem was being played at a passing out parade at the Subsidiary Training Centre in Reasi area of the state.

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was the chief guest at the attestation-cum-passing out parade and Director General of Police SP Vaid was also present at the event which saw the graduation of 911 recruit constables.

A video of the incident reportedly shows family members of a few policemen sitting in chairs even as others stood up for the national anthem.

"We have taken note of the incident and action would be taken against the guilty," said a police official.
