The Mandal’s Pride: Volunteers Pull Ganpati’s Chariot by Hand

The Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust is known for celebrating Ganeshotsav in its most authentic and traditional form. Continuing its long-standing custom, the Ganesh chariot was pulled manually by the Mandal’s volunteers instead of oxen — a hallmark of its heritage. Festival convenor Puneet Balan emphasized this unique tradition, stating:

“This is a matter of pride for all of us. Every year our volunteers consider it their duty and honour to pull the chariot with their own hands.”
This practice, passed down through generations, symbolizes devotion, selfless service, and community unity, making it a defining feature of the Mandal’s identity.
