JD(U)–RJD rift: Sharad Yadav not in favour to break grand alliance despite Nitish’s reservation on Tejashwi’s continuance

Senior Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav is not in favour of breaking the grand alliance after party chief and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has signalled that his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, who is facing charges of benami property, has to go after a meeting with Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

On Saturday Nitish had met Rahul Gandhi and discussed the fate of grand alliance.

Sources say that Nitish is adamant on his stance and clearly conveyed to Rahul that such allegation would not be in the interest of coalition.

Sources added that Rahul also backed Nitish and said that there would be no compromise on corruption.

While the RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has rejected demands of resignation of his son, Kumar is learnt to have reservations about Tejashwi's continuance as it dents his "anti-corruption" image.
