The Janata Dal (United) on Friday took action against its rebel leader Ali Anwar Ansari by suspending him from parliamentary party. Anwar is close to party leader Sharad Yadav.

The party suspended Anwar for attending meeting of Opposition parties convened by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

Party spokesperson KC Tyagi said that JD(U) has taken decision against Anwar for attending Opposition meet.

Both Anwar and Sharad have been voicing their dissent against the party’s decision to break grand alliance in Bihar and join hands with NDA.

Earlier on Thursday, Yadav who started his three-day Jan Samvad Yatra to meet the people of Bihar accused Nitish of breaking people’s trust by joining hands with BJP.

Sharad said that he still stands with grand alliance. Sharad said that original JD(U) is with him.

JD(U) had also warned Sharad to refrain from making comments against the party's decision. The party had asked him to stop crossing limits.

Nitish on Friday said that Sharad is free to make his own decisions.

“Party has taken a decision with everyone's consensus, he is free to make his own decisions,” Bihar CM Nitish told.
