Sabrina Lal on Monday said she had forgiven Manu Sharma, her sister Jessica Lal’s killer and did not have any objection to his release from Tihar Jail, where he has been serving his life term sentence since 2006.
Sabrina said she held no grudges against Manu Sharma now as she only wanted him to be convicted in her sister’s murder case.
“I have been fighting for this since 1999. He has spent 15 years in jail. You need to let go of anger. I thought it is okay if Manu Sharma walks free. There is no specific reason. You need to rest your mind and move on with your life. I have no objection if the court releases him,” said Sabrina while talking to a leading press agency.

Sabrina has written a letter to an officer at Tihar jail where Manu Sharma has spent 12 years of his life sentence.
Sharma’s release by a trial court ignited nationwide outrage until it was reconsidered by the Delhi High Court in 2006.
Later, the Supreme Court upheld the High Court’s verdict after re-examining the evidence again, where he was held guilty of murder.
Jessica Lal was shot dead by Sharma when she refused to serve him liquor at a party in South Delhi on April 29, 1999.
Manu Sharma is the son of former Congress leader Venod Sharma.
