The airlines will have direct flights on the Chennai-Paris and Bengaluru-Amsterdam sectors as part of expanding the services globally.

Jet Airways announced on Wednesday that the airlines soon would introduce new routes which will have direct flights on the Chennai-Paris and Bengaluru-Amsterdam sectors as part of expanding the services globally.

"Given the presence of corporates like Michelin, Renault and BNP Paribas in Paris and also in Chennai, we are launching direct flights from Chennai to Paris starting from October 29", Jet Airways, Vice-President (Sales), Praveen Iyer told reporters. 

The airlines currently connects 45 destinations in its domestic route, with more than 500 flights. Globally it operates 150 flights.When asked about the reason behind it's commencement, Praveen replies, "Chennai also has these companies like Michelin, Renault, BNP Paribas and it is also the cultural capital." 

The IT capital was the third busiest airport in India and as per the reports, the number of people visiting Europe from South India had seen a "steady increase".

The initial fare would be Rs33,999 per ticket for economy class in both the sectors, whereas for the premiere class, the cost is Rs 1.29 lakh on bith routs.

This step shall boost corporate and leisure travel and shall also contribute to significant growth in trade and commerce.
