A Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) minister on Tuesday visited Apollo hospital, where Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is undergoing treatment, and enquired about her health.
Chowdhary Zulfikar Ali, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Jammu and Kashmir, said the visit was on behalf of his state’s Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti.
“I expressed the best wishes of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and the chief minister,” he told reporters.
Ali said he enquired about Jayalalithaa’s health with the state ministers present at the hospital and added that the Tamil Nadu chief minister was “responding well” to the treatment and “recovering”.
Former state Congress chief M Krishnasamy also visited the hospital.
Meanwhile, special prayers were held by AIADMK ministers, workers and supporters for Jayalalithaa’s speedy recovery.
Cooperation Minister Sellur K Raju was part of a ‘milk pot procession’ in Madurai even as prayers were held in different parts of the state, including Salem and Coimbatore.
Jayalalithaa (68) was admitted to the hospital on September 22 after she complained of fever and dehydration.
Yesterday, Apollo Hospitals had said, she continued to be under treatment and was being constantly monitored by the intensivists and other consultants in the expert panel, while respiratory support, antibiotics, nutrition, supportive therapy and passive physiotherapy were being given to her.
