J-K: After Pampore attack, number of soldiers’ deaths mount to 87 in 2016; highest since 2008

With the terror attack in Pampore area of Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday which killed 3 soldiers, the death list of soldiers mount to 87 in the current year. Out of these 87 soldiers, 71 soldiers have been killed in the Kashmir valley itself.

The list of 87 soldiers includes 6 officers as well. The number of soldiers’ deaths this year is the highest since the year 2008.

In a major terror attack, terrorists killed 19 soldiers in the army camp stationed in Uri. After Uri attack, Indian Army conducted surgical strike in Pak-occupied Kashmir. But, it has been witnessed that terror attacks have increased after surgical strike.
