J&K: Policeman shot dead by terrorists in Pulwama

A police head constable was shot dead by terrorists in Awantipora’s Padgampora village of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Ashiq Hussain.

Earlier in the day, two policemen were injured in a grenade attack by militants in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir tonight.

A joint check-point of police and the Army was set up at Zuhama in Baramulla, 55 kms from here, following information about possible movement of militants through the area, a police official said.

He said two militants on a motorcycle, upon noticing the security team, made a U-turn some distance away.
