Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chief Yasin Malik has reportedly assaulted news channel journalist who went to Malik's residence to seek a reaction on her ongoing investigation on Kashmir unrest. The journalist alleged that 'Malik snatched her phone and smashed it to smithereens.'

JKLF chief Yasin Malik assualts journalist, files FIR against news channel

Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chief Yasin Malik has reportedly assaulted news channel journalist who went to Malik's residence to seek a reaction on her ongoing investigation on Kashmir unrest. The journalist alleged that 'Malik snatched her phone and smashed it to smithereens.'

On the other hand, JKLF chief has reportedly contented the claim and filed a complaint against India Today news channel and journalist for entering his premises and shooting without permission. He had alleged that the reporter went directly into his bedroom with camera on.

Malik said he will soon address a press conference on the issue.

In contradiction, Journalist Kanwaljit Sandhu of reportedly told the channel that she had followed all the procedure while approaching the leader. "She said that she rang the door bell. She was called inside. She said a woman took her inside the house. When Yasin Malik asked about her coming without an appointment, she told him that they can wait outside. He agreed to talk her," a report said. 

However, when she asked a question to her, Yasin Malik lost his cool and broke her phone. He also assaulted camera person, Vinod, before chucking them out, the report said.

The channel report claims that it had come up with a clinching evidence against the funding sources of separatist movement, which enraged the political leader.
