New Delhi :

Amid a raging controversy over events at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Tata Group was caught in social media crossfire and had to officially deny comments attributed to its Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata in various tweets.

The Group’s reaction was in response to some tweets claiming that Ratan Tata told a Make In India session in Mumbai that Tata Group will not hire any student from JNU.

“Mr Tata has not issued any such statement,” Tata Group said in its official Twitter handle late in the evening today.

A political slugfest has erupted over the arrest of JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar on charges of sedition amid allegations that some students shouted anti-India slogans.
