Aam Aadmi Party MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj on Tuesday demanded that a lie detector test be conducted on the Vice Chancellor and those accused of assaulting JNU student Najeeb Ahmed who has been missing from the campus for a month.
"The government is claiming that we will become a superpower but when students are going missing from campuses how can we progress? Why Najeeb hasn't been traced yet? Only because the students accused of assaulting him are from ABVP? I demand that a lie detector test be conducted on them,"
Bhardwaj said while addressing a protest gathering at JNU. "Vice Chancellor should also undergo brain mapping and lie detector test about why an action was not taken against the said students," he added.
Najeeb (27), a student of School of Biotechnology and a native of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh, went missing on October 15 following an on-campus scuffle allegedly with the members of ABVP the night before.
JNU students and teachers have been leading a movement alleging inaction on administration and Delhi Police's part in tracing the missing student.
