Posters of Scindia along with PM Modi and Amit Shah have already surfaced in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind. After his resignation, nameplate of Scindia was removed from the Congress office in Bhopal on Tuesday evening. Former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh have summarised the mood in the Congress party over the dramatic turn of events. “We did not anticipate Scindia will quit Congress…that was a mistake,” Singh was quoted as saying by Press trust of India. Digvijaya Singh claimed Scindia was roped in by the BJP after Shivraj Singh Chouhan failed to topple Congress government in MP; alleged MLAs were offered huge money. “Scindia could have been Congress nominee to the Rajya Sabha but "only Modi-Shah" can give Cabinet post to the "over-ambitious" leader,” Digvijay Singh reportedly said.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has hit out at Scindia saying that, “Such opportunists should have left the party much earlier. Congress party gave him so much for 18 years… people will teach him a lesson.” Reports suggest that Scindia is likely to be sent to the Rajya Sabha and he may get a berth in the Union cabinet if his rebellion against the Congress leads to the collapse of the Madhya Pradesh government, as the BJP assumes.

Chief Minister Kamal Nath says he is confident his government will complete its term. "There is nothing to worry about. We will prove our majority," he said late on Tuesday night. Congress says they have shifted 95 MLAs to Jaipur where the party is in power to prevent horse trading. The BJP also decide to keep its MLAs together. The BJP hurried its 106 MLAs to a luxury hotel in Gurugram in the wee hours on Wednesday.
