After Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal for seeking deferment of the Ayodhya case in the Supreme Court till the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the former Union minister on Monday retorted, “I was never a Sunni Waqf Board lawyer”.
Sibal, in his response, said that the claims made by BJP chief Amit Shah and PM Modi are baseless. “Our PM comments without knowing things sometimes. Amit Shah & he said I represented Sunni Waqf Board. I was never a Sunni Waqf Board lawyer,” said the senior Congress leader.
He added the Ram temple will only be built when God wishes. Sibal said, “Ram temple will not be built on the statements made by Modiji. The matter is in court.”
The Congress leader added, “Will discussion on my going to the court and representing someone solve serious problems in the country? If yes, then PM should say so. Issuing statements won't help India in anyway, it'll just take the nation towards controversies.”

Sibal also asked PM Modi to be careful before making statements. He said, “PM did not check the fact. I request PM to be a little more careful.”
The veteran Congress leader also added that he believes in lord. “We don’t believe in you Modiji. You are not going to build that temple, it will be done when God wants it. The court will decide.”
Sibal also requested PM Modi to address the concerns of India and asked him not to divide the country. “You will lose badly and India will lose if you only care about yourself,” he said.
