New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed Bharatiya Janata Party's Kisan Morcha workers in poll-bound Karnataka via video conferencing.

During his address, Modi highlighted his government's schemes for the welfare of farmers and said that over one crore farmers were given soil health card in Karnataka.

Taking on Siddaramaiah-led Congress government, Modi said that due to the apathy of Karnataka Chief Minister, the farmers of the state could not get the benefits of his government's “Fasal Bima Yojna” scheme.

Modi told the Kisan Morcha workers that the BJP’s chief minister candidate BS Yeddyurappa would work with “renewed vigour” towards his dream of doubling farmers’ income by 2022.

“A sensitive government, which works for the development of farmers is needed in Karnataka. Farmer’s leader in Yeddyurappa Ji will work with renewed vigour in our efforts to double farmer’s income,” he said.

Earlier on Tuesday, Modi launched BJP’s campaign for the forthcoming Karnataka Assembly elections 2018 and addressed three back to back rallies across the state.
