New Delhi:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Thursday took out a massive roadshow in Badami from where Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is contesting the Karnataka assembly polls, and warned voters not to fall into Congress party's trap.

"Congress is trying to win elections with undemocratic ways. Recovery of Voter ID cards in Rajarajeshwari Nagar shows how desperately Congress wants to win the election. I want to alert those whose fake IDs have been made, that don't fall in Congress' trap & disturb polls," said Amit Shah.

The BJP chief gave a final push for the party as the town got painted in saffron colour and BJP flags fluttered all along Badami in North Karnataka.

Thousands of party workers with saffron coloured caps danced to the drumbeats, whistled and raised loud slogans vowing to bring the BJP to power and defeat Siddaramaiah.

Taking the onlookers by surprise and awe, party workers thronged the road disrupting the entire Badami town for more than a couple of hours. The party workers marched the route enthusiastically, beating the summer heat.

Just two days before the poll-day and also hours before the loudspeakers fall silent, Shah pushed for the last time to woo the voters.

The seat is as much crucial for the BJP as for the Congress. It is speculated that the caste matrix in Chamundeshwari forced him to find a ‘safer’ seat in north Karnataka.
Siddaramaiah, pitching himself against GT Deve Gowda in Chamundeshwari, have not gone down well with the Vokkaliga community, who dominated the region, according to reports.

In order to give Siddaramaiah a stern fight in Badami, the BJP have fielded Sriramulu, a Scheduled Tribes (ST) leader from the local town.
Shah has been stating that Siddaramaiah’s defeat is imminent in both Badami as well as Chamundeshwari.
