Member of the legislative council in Karnataka and a senior BJP leader, Mahantesh Kavatagimath has sparked a controversy after the news surfaced that he allegedly posted porn pics on a WhatsApp group.
Belagavi Media Force, the WhatsApp group where he posted the images has many media professionals and officials of the district administration. The sources said that the admin of the group Mahaboob Makandar has removed Kavatagimath from the group.
Kavatagimath hasn’t made any comment on the incident yet. Talking about the action against him, no action has been taken against the BJP leader irrespective of the fact that there was the presence of senior police officers.

“Nobody has come forward to lodge a complaint, so no case has been booked,” said Hindustan Times quoting additional superintendent of police Ravindra Gadadi. The additional superintendent also said that he didn’t check Kavatagimath’s comments on the group as there was no Internet access to his phone.
On being asked about suo motu action against the accused, Hindustan Times quoted Gadadi saying “Only if child pornography is shared can we take suo motu action”. He further added that the admin of the group has also not registered any complaint.
The Karnataka BJP in 2012 came into limelight regarding the similar incident when two of its ministers were caught watching porn clips during the session of the House.
