Karnataka Floor Test: The Assembly session of the Vidhana Soudha began on Tuesday with many anticipating whether the lawmakers will be able to meet the 6 pm deadline and complete the trust vote proceedings or the political drama will drag on. The proceedings ended without any conclusion yesterday. The fate of the Congress-JDS government in Karnataka still hangs in the balance as the House was adjourned without a trust vote on Monday as well. The ruling party asked the Speaker to wait for the Supreme Court's order today, he, however was adamant on his decision to have a floor test by today but later relented after Siddaramaiah's request. Speaker KD Ramesh Kumar has given the ruling coalition time till 4 pm to end the debate. The voting on trust motion, moved by Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy will take place at 6 pm, Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar said.

I worked with them for 40 years, am I a dacoit? Couldn't I have locked them in my house when I tore their resignations? Yes, I was the reason MTB Nagaraj a ticket. 2:17 pm: Siddaramaiah attacks BJP and says Shettar says Shivakumar is misleading the house. But the resignations haven't been accepted. The Supreme Court has said they won't fetter the Speaker. It's not Shivakumar but the BJP that has misled. He is only pleading with them to rectify their mistake, don't unnecessarily fall into the trap they've laid. This is not violation of anything. The Supreme Court order on compulsion is there but X Schedule is in existence, it hasn't been amended. This is why the Speaker clarified that I have right to issue whip and I've already done it. Nobody is above the Constitution, everything has to function in accordance with it. It is the basis. So the question of violation doesn't arise at all and nobody can kill and even the Supreme Court cannot overrule it. We have to finish the floor test by 6pm.’ He also takes dig at the BJP and says, “BJP is on its toes to rule the state, run the govt but they'll have to wait. There was no majority by people's mandate. Hence a coalition was the only choice.â€

Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy sits in his chamber and clears files instead of sitting for discussions. They don't have the mindset to prove their majority, they want to drag this. The people are disgusted with this. We cannot wait for people who are holed up in Mumbai.â€
10:18 am: Session begins. BJP lawmakers present in the Assembly. Only one Congress MLA Priyank Kharge has reached the Assembly so far.
