Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday launched party’s manifesto for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections 2018 in Mangalore.

Gandhi claimed that Siddaramaiah government had fulfilled 95 per cent of the promises made in the manifesto released ahead of the 2013 polls after coming to power.

He said that like the previous one, all the work promised in the manifesto would be completed if the Congress is elected back to power.

"Like we delivered almost 95% of the promises we made in our previous manifesto, even these promises will be delivered," Gandhi said.

Rahul said that the Congress party's manifesto was the "voice of the people of Karnataka" and not a document prepared by "three or four people in a closed room".

"This is not a manifesto that has been made by 3 or 4 people in a closed room. This is made by going to every single district and every single community," the Congress President said.

He took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that unlike PM, who likes to tell people his "mann ki baat", the Congress's manifesto contained the "mann ki baat" of the people of Karnataka.

Gandhi, who was on a two-day visit to the poll bound Karnataka, said that he was not in the state to tell people what was good for them but he was there to listen their voices.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sbaha Mallikarjun Kharge, including other senior Congress leaders, were present during the launch of the manifesto.

Karnataka will go to the polls on May 12 and counting of the votes will take place on May 15.
