Asiya Andrabi, chief of the women's separatist group "Dukhtaran-e-Milat" (Daughters of Faith), and two of her associates on Friday have been sent to a 10-day NIA remand in connection to the June 29 sedition case.

"Asiya Andrabi and two others have been sent to 10 days NIA remand," the news agency ANI reported.

Earlier in the day, the National Investigation Agency produced the trio before Delhi's Patiala House Court in connection to two cases registered against them on June 29 in Delhi. Andrabi and her associates – Sofi Fehmeeda and Nahida Nasreen had allegedly delivered hate speeches and endangered the sovereignty and security of India.

During the hearing, the NIA told the Delhi court, "several mobiles numbers used by members of Dukhtaran-e-Millat were collected and further analysed during which it was found that they are in regular contacts with their associates in Pakistan and involved in anti-India activities".

"By their activities on cyberspace they are running a concerted campaign to solicit the support of Pakistani establishment which inter-alia includes arranging support from terrorist entities from Pakistan," the agency added.

On Thursday, Andrabi and her associates were brought to Delhi from the Srinagar Central Jail in Jammu and Kashmir.

The development came after the Union Ministry of Home Affairs in April directed the investigation agency to register cases against Andrabi, her associates and the Dukhtaraan-e-Milat. The Dukhtaraan-e-Milat, or Daughters of Faith, is a banned group under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

The NIA, in its report, accused the pro-Pakistan leader and her associates of using "words that bring into hatred and contempt apart from exciting disaffection towards the government of India".
