A 27-year-old youth belonging to Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir has achieved a special milestone.

Anjum Bashir Khan has topped the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) exams in spite of threats from terror outfits.

Pakistan backed terror groups have been pressurising Anjum’s family to send him across the border for terror training.

Anjum’s family used to stay at Mord Bachai village at Poonch border and his father Bashir Khan was under constant pressure to send one of his three sons to join a terror group.

But his father defied the diktats and moved to Jammu so that his children could pursue their education. Even there, terrorists did not leave them alone and hence Anjum’s family decided to move to a Hindu majority area. Their Hindu neighbours lent every support and help to facilitate the education of the children.

Anjum gives the credit of his success to his family and neighbours. His message to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir is that they should adopt a positive mindset. He further says that negative approach and violence yield nothing hence should be avoided at all costs.

Anjum admits the role of Pakistan in instigating the youth of the Valley as he says that the neighbouring country is always trying to provoke and brainwash the Kashmiri youth.

He asks the Kashmiri youth to gauge the consequences of their actions and their impact on their own and their families’ lives.
