KCR appoints son KT Rama Rao as TRS working president

KCR has decided to concentrate more time on national politics to bring a qualitative change

Telangana Chief Minister and TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) president K Chandrashekhar Rao has appointed his son K Taraka Rama Rao popularly known as KTR as the working president of the party. This came two days after KCR took oath as the chief minister of Telangana for the second consecutive term. KTR won from Sircilla with a margin of 89,909 votes in Assembly polls.

“KCR has decided to concentrate more time on national politics to bring a qualitative change,” TRS said in a statement.

On Tuesday, KCR had said that he would soon be forming a non-Congress, non-BJP national party, along with a conglomerate of regional parties.

KTR, after doing M.Sc. Biotechnology from the University of Pune, he went on to obtain MBA degree in Marketing and E-Commerce from City University of New York, US. KTR had worked in the US for six years from 2001 before entering the political arena during the separate Telangana agitation spearheaded by the TRS.

As a minister for Information Technology and Industries between 2014 and 2018 RPT between 2014 and 2018 in Raos cabinet, KTR, was credited with ushering in novel initiatives such as the "T Hub” the country's largest incubator for start-ups; generating skilled workers through Telangana Academy of Skill and knowledge (TASK), among others.
