New Delhi: In Delhi, the Kejriwal Government is continuously working and making sure that the roads in Delhi are widened. However, the BJP-ruled MCD is not delivering on its responsibility to widen the roads even after collecting MLA funds in its area. Due to MCD’s failure, the incessant traffic problem is not being resolved.
To eliminate the problem of traffic jams in Delhi, the Kejriwal Government has built many roads. The MLAs of the Kejriwal Government, along with various departments from the fund, have widened many roads in Delhi to reduce the traffic congestion. Two roads have been built near IIT and one road has been laid down near the Police Training School. Thus the roads were widened in areas where they were under PWD. But the MCD is not widening its roads, despite the fact that the MLA fund has also been taken for this. The BJP-ruled MCD does not do any work in the interests of the people, even after getting the required money.
Due to the greed of BJP-ruled MCD in Delhi, MLA funds are being misused continuously. The BJP-ruled MCD takes money from MLA's fund but does not put it towards delivering on any of its responsibilities. The same work that MCD charges Rs 100 for, takes just Rs. 30 for the Kejriwal Government departments. The MCD has estimated its expenditure at Rs 24 lakh to build a wall in front of St. Paul's School, SDA. Whereas the Delhi Government has estimated the expenditure for the same work at Rs 7 lakh.
In Delhi, 95 percent of such responsibilities and matters come under MCD. The MLA gives the fund to the MCD to get the public's work done. Despite giving funds to the MCD, BJP leaders do not allow the work to get done. East MCD has decided that first one should bring an NOC, only then the MLA can spend the fund. South and North MCD have not decided on it officially. There is an internal pressure of BJP councillors on the MCD officials to not do the work as instructed by the MLA. The MLA gives money from his fund, but despite this, the BJP councillors disrupt any work that is done.
