To study the drought like situation in the region, a team of central government officials led by Ashwin Kumar, Agriculture Ministry Joint Secretary on Thursday visited various places in the district.
The four-member team visited the drought-hit areas, including Vandikadavu and Kolavally in Ullankolli gram panchayat and Ereyiapalli in Pulpalli gram panchayat.
Earlier, a team of officials led by District Collector B S Thirumeni explained the plight of the farmers due to the drought.
The team would submit their report to the Centre after discussing the issue with the senior officials of various departments in Thiruvanananthapuram on Friday.
