Kerala flood fury is wiping out lives and washing away properties at an alarming rate. The calamity has already claimed 324 lives, while many marooned villages and suburbs are still left hanging. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has called for help to rebuild lives of people in the state under the Kerala CM Distress Relief Fund.
With torrential rains increasing its momentum, the situation is only worsening to a grimmer level. The flight operations at Kochi International airport have been suspended till Saturday and many trains have been fully or partially cancelled. The escalating floods have disarrayed road transport services. The power supply, communication systems and distribution of pure drinking water have been completely ravaged.
