New Delhi:

Father of Kerala woman Hadiya nee Akhila has threatened to move the Supreme Court against Salem's Sivaraj Homeopathy Medical College after it allowed her to speak to her husband, Shafin Jahan.

Twenty-five-year-old Hadiya, who converted to Islam to marry a Muslim man, on Tuesday was re-admitted to the college to complete her homeopathy course on Supreme Court’s directions.

As per media reports, dean of Hadiya’s college, G Kannan had allowed her to speak to husband Jahan from his own mobile phone.

"Hadiya talked to Jahan for a while from my mobile phone, after I, as the local guardian, asked her whether she was interested in talking or meeting anybody," NDTV quoted Kannan as saying.

The move infuriated Hadiya's father, who said, "The highest court of the country has sent her to the college to complete her education in a safe environment. If Jahan who has got an extremist link meets her it will compromise my daughter's safety."

"I would immediately move the Supreme Court seeking an order restraining Jehan from meeting her. Besides, the college authorities should be directed not to allow her to address the media. Jahan has no right to meet her, he added.

Earlier on Wednesday, Hadiya had complained that she was not completely free even after the SC allowed her to complete her studies and expressed a strong desire to meet husband.

Hadiya was confined to her parents’ home for the last seven months after the Kerala High Court annulled her marriage on her family’s petition.

Her family had alleged that she was heavily indoctrinated by the terrorist groups like ISIS and will be taken to Syria.

Hadiya’s husband Shafin Jahan had challenged the annulment order of Kerala High Court in the Supreme Court saying that she was an adult and had the right to decide her future.

The apex court had said that being an adult her consent was “prime” and called her to testify if she married and converted of her own will.

Before leaving for Delhi for the hearing in Supreme Court, Hadiya screamed that she was not forcefully converted and wanted to live with her husband.

After the hearing on Monday, the Supreme Court had freed Hadiya from her parents’ “unlawful custody” and allowed her to complete her college course in homeopathy.

On the apex court’s direction, she was sent to Tamil Nadu and re-admitted to Salem's Sivaraj Homeopathy Medical College.
