Chairperson of Kerala State Women's Commission MC Josephine was denied permission to visit Hadiya by her father Ashokan KM.

Josephine had visited to ensure Hadiya's safety during the journey to Delhi where Hadiya would be presented before the Supreme Court on November 27, the next date of hearing in the case.

Kerala State Women's Commission has sought a report from the district police chief regarding the travel arrangements and safety measures of Hadiya.

About two-weeks back the National Commission for Women (NCW's) chairperson in-charge Rekha Sharma had met Hadiya and said that Hadiya is in good health and waiting to appear before the Supreme Court on November 27.

“She is in good health, she has not been beaten up or anything, she is eating her food and she was smiling, she was happy. The woman's health and security were OK,” she said after meeting Hadiya at her family home in Vaikom after the apex court directed her father to produce her before it on November 27.

The Kerala High Court had annulled her marriage with Shafin Jahan after her parents argued that he was a radicalised person.
