The idea is said to have been the brainchild of the then Finance Minister of Kerala, late PK Kunju. This became a source of non-tax revenue for the state while it also provided a source of stable income to the poor.
The results of the seasonal Bumper Lottery will go live on the portal of Directorate of Kerala State Lotteries i.e. https://keralalotteries.com/
The winner of the first prize will be awarded with Rs 5 crore while the second and third prize winners will get Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively. Last but not the least, there also is a provision of consolation prize of Rs 1 lakh.
