Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday took part in ‘Jana Raksha Yatra’ in Kerala’s Kannur over killing of Bhartiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s workers in the state.
"This yatra is a mirror for communist governments in Kerala, WB and Tripura. They should put an end to political killings. There is no place for violence in a democracy, but political killings are continuing here," said Adityanath.
The BJP is holding Jana Raksha Yatra to protest the CPI-M's alleged violence against workers of party. BJP is trying to emerge as the main challenger to the Left in Kerala.
BJP chief Amit Shah embarked on a 15-day foot march on Tuesday.
"More than 84 BJP and RSS workers have been killed in the district alone. I want to ask Pinarayi Vijayan...Who has killed them? If he does not have answers, then I am saying that the chief minister is responsible for the killings," he said.
Kerala is the land of great saints and social reformers such as Adi Shankara, Sreenarayana Guru and Chattambi Swamikal but it has been turned into a state of bloodshed with the rise of the Left, Shah alleged.
As many as 120 BJP workers have been killed in the state since 2001 with 14 of them in the chief minister's home town since he took over the reigns last year, the BJP has alleged.
