The Kolkata airport authorities stalled an Air India flight after a person reportedly called in a bomb threat.
He threatened to 'blow up' the Guwahati-bound Air India 729 flight. According to reports, the call was made at around 8:20 am “A bomb threat was received on Air India 729 flight flying to Guwahati from Kolkata.
However, the case has been disposed off and action has been taken as per the standard operating procedures,” said Kolkata Airport Director Atul Dixit.
The flight was scheduled to depart at 9.50 am for Guwahati. None of the passengers had boarded the flight at the time of receiving the threat call, airport officials said.
