New Delhi:

AAP leader Kumar Vishwas on Friday said Arvind Kejriwal’s stand on surgical strikes was one of the reasons behind a string of electoral defeats faced by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Arvind Kejriwal "shouldn't (have) attack(ed) the PM" and because his "stand on surgical strikes was wrong," he said in an interview with a TV channel.

The prominent AAP leader, who is also a poet, said other reasons for AAP’s poll debacles are "lack of" intra-party democracy and a "trust deficit" with voters.

Kejriwal has been attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi since becoming the Chief Minister of Delhi in 2015. The AAP convener went a step ahead as he questioned the surgical strikes that were carried out on terrorists camps in PoK last September and even asked proof of the same.

AAP recently tasted defeat in the Delhi MCD polls. The loss followed the party’s debacle in the recent Punjab and Goa Assembly elections.
