Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched an all out attack on Narendra Modi government and said that the BJP is voice of one organisation (RSS) while the Congress party is voice of the nation.
Speaking on the second day of the 84th Congress Plenary Session that began on Friday, Rahul Gandhi compared BJP-RSS with 'Kauravas' and Congress with 'Pandavas' of 'Mahabharat', the great Sanskrit epic of ancient India.
"Centuries ago there was huge battle on the field of Kurukshetra. The Kauravas were powerful&arrogant. The Pandavas were humble&fought for the truth. Like the Kauravas BJP & RSS are designed to fight for power, like the Pandavas,Congress is designed to fight for truth," Rahul said.
The plenary session, which is a first since Rahul Gandhi’s elevation to the presidential post, is called ‘Change is now’ and is aimed at projecting young faces of the party at the forefront.
Earlier on Saturday, the Congress president in his inaugural speech as part of the Congress party’s plenary session had accused the BJP of dividing the country by spreading "hatred" and said only Congress can unite the nation.
“Only Congress can show the way for this nation. This country belongs to all irrespective of which religion caste community one belongs to. We will work for all,†the Congress president said.
Apart from Rahul, his mother and predecessor Sonia Gandhi also launched a scathing attack against the Narendra Modi-led NDA government, calling it “arrogant†and "drunk" on power.
