Violence erupted in Chennai after police started evicting pro-Jallikattu protesters on Monday morning. Around 50 protesters set Ice House police station on fire. Not only this, vehicles were also set on fire during the protests.
Chennai Police in early morning crackdown on Monday started removing scores of protesters demonstrating at Marina Beach, demanding permanent solution on Jallikattu.
After much uproar and protests, Jallikattu, the bull-taming sport was finally conducted in several districts of Tamil Nadu on Sunday. Two people were killed and at least 50 injured in Pudukottai during the sport.
However, protesters in Alanganallur of Madurai demanded a permanent solution and forced Chief Minister O Panneerselvam to leave for Chennai without inaugurating Jallikattu.

Tamil Nadu assembly session began on the issue of Jallikattu on Monday but DMK walked out from the assembly as Tamil Nadu Governor speaking.
DMK Working President MK Stalin on Monday criticised the police action on protesters at Marina beach demanding lifting of the ban on Jallikattu and a permanent solution for holding it.
“It is condemnable that instead of holding talks with peaceful protesters, it has been attempted to end protests using police with an authoritarian mindset,” Stalin, opposition leader in the state assembly, said in a statement.
