Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah, who is on a two-day visit to Karnataka, held a 'dharna' in Dharwad on Thursday. BS Yeddyurappa, the Chief Ministerial candidate of upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections, joined Shah and other BJP leaders to stage a nationwide protest against the Congress' 'divisive politics'.
Later, Shah will visit a few religious mutts, hold a road show and address several meetings to discuss poll campaign strategies. He will seek the blessing of seers at Hindu mutts ahead of the May 12 Assembly elections, a party leader said.
Earlier, in the morning, the BJP chief visited Sri Siddharudha Mutt in Hubli of Dharwad district before joining his party colleagues in their protest against the Congress.
"I felt like seeing God when I met the revered pontiff. I sought his blessings for our party's success in the state assembly election," Shah said while visiting the 110-year-old Lingayat seer Shivakumara Swami of the Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur in March.
Apart from these, Shah will join farmers for lunch in Abbigeri village.

On the second day, Shah will start his campaign with a visit to the Rani Chennamma Memorial in Kittur and address a party meeting later, according to a statement. He will attend a road show, address a women's convention, and interact with college students, it added.
