In yet another train mishap, 10 coaches of Ranikhet Express (15014 Kath Godham-Jaisalmer Express) passenger train derailed in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan late on Friday night. According to reports, there were no casualties or injuries to passengers.
The official statement said: "Train No 15014 Kath Godham-Jaisalmer Express derailed with 10 coaches between Thayat Hamira-Jaisalmer at 23.16hrs (11:16PM)."
However, no casualties or major injuries were reported, said Railways North West region spokesperson Tarun Jain.
A team of senior officials have reached the spot to investigate the reason of derailment and passengers continued their journey through a special train.
The reason of derailment is yet to be known but prima facie it seems to have resulted from a fault in track, Jain said.
The accident comes exactly two months after the horrific Kanpur Patna train accident, which killed over a hundred people. Police are currently investigating links to the underworld and ISI with the tragedy to determine if it was an accident or an act of terror.
